This is a very relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork. I combine a variety of strokes including effleurage, kneading, friction and compression to help bring the body back into balance. I apply these strokes to affect the tissues, but I use them in specific ways that simultaneously trigger the parasympathetic nervous system to bring deep relaxation and stress relief. Benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and, especially when received regularly, may include relieved aches and pains, increased circulation, improved balance, coordination and mobility, better digestion, less constipation, strengthened immune system, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, more energy, and a renewed sense of well-being.
This massage is easily adaptable for most people, and is performed while the client is lying comfortably on my massage table, draped with flannel sheets.
If I bring my portable massage table to your home within 10 miles of my office, please add a travel/set up fee of $25. To work around the massage table, I need an open space of 6' by 12'. I am willing to move a few small items like chairs or coffee table aside.
Compassionate Touch is described as a hands-on complementary approach for those in elder care, hospice and palliative care. It combines one on one focused attention, intentional touch and sensitive massage with specialized communication skills to help enhance quality of life for those in later life stages. Since the client does not undress, and remains in his or her chair, wheelchair, recliner or bed, it is excellent when regular massage is not appropriate for an elder.
Benefits of Compassionate Touch, especially when received regularly, may include decreased chronic pain resulting in decreased use of pain medications, decreased loneliness, renewed interest in ones surroundings, and affirmation of their dignity and value as a human being.
In addition, for those suffering with Alzheimer's/dementia, it can be a grounding influence for those experiencing confusion, markedly decrease agitation and restlessness, and is helpful especially before "sundowning."
For persons of any age who are in hospice, it can reduce the amount of pain medication needed, thus allowing higher quality of the remaining time with loved ones. And it provides simple comfort in the form of caring human companionship with someone not a caregiver whom he or she may not want to burden.
The session fee includes history taking, note taking, 15-45 minutes hands-on with client depending on receptivity of the individual at the moment, and my travel time within ten miles of my home in Hooksett, NH.

Reiki is a Japanese form of energy work that cleanses and balances the energy system in the body. As a result, the body's natural self-healing mechanisms strengthen, helping to establish optimum health. During a session, I work directly with your energy field to remove blockages, detoxify your system, and restore your vital life force energy. Reiki utilizes a gentle laying on of hands to conduct the necessary energy force between us. The benefits of Reiki range from the release of habitual mental/emotional stress to alleviating chronic pain.
